Spring Training

Fort Myers, Florida is the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins. These two perennial American League contenders compete against each other every spring for the hotly contested Mayor's Cup. The victor is the team that wins more games against the other during the two-month spring training season.

The Minnesota Twins call Hammond Stadium their home during spring training. Debuting in 1991, Hammond Stadium has a seating capacity of 7,500 fans. Hammond Stadium is part of the Lee County Sports Complex and is named for former Lee County Commissioner, Bill Hammond, who played an important role in getting this stadium built. Prior to Fort Myers, the Minnesota Twins trained in Orlando, Florida.

Hammond Stadium is also home to the Fort Myers Miracle, the Twins affiliate of the Florida State League. Hammond Stadium is located at 14100 Six Miles Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers...read more »

The downtown region is filled with shops, restaurants and parks – meaning that this is the perfect spot to stroll, people watch, grab a bite to eat or check out one of the festivals or special events that occur on a regular basis. Nearby is the Marina, called the Yacht Basin, which offers all the supplies, guidance and aid that you’ll need to rent a boat or dock your own.
